Sim Walking With Umbrella Posture Without Umbrella - No Rain

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.51.77.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All but MFP and SV
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Ask my sim (Gregory Chrome in the Misfits household) to walk anywhere a medium distance away.
What happens when the bug occurs? My sim walks with the posture of holding an umbrella but is not holding an umbrella. This happens inside and outside, and with any weather. It also happens after I 'put away' the umbrella in the umbrella bin object as well. This only happens with this particular sim but I don't want to delete him since he's my favorite and the twin tool does *not* create true identical twins, only look-alikes.
What do you expect to see? My sim walking normally like he used to do.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I've removed all cc, reset the sim, repaired the game, and reset the ts4 folder and nothing has helped.

    Hi @DreamaDove

Ah .. yes now that you mention it :D

There was a bug with level 3 getting the walkstyle with no means of removing it.

What you need to do is cheat them up to level 4, then remove the walkstyle by clicking on the sim, then cheat them back to the level they were on before.

  • Hi @DreamaDove

moving this to tech for troubleshooting as you say it's only happened on that one Sim.

Did you try the following things yet:

    • Give the Sim another umbrella and put it away again ?
    • Moved the Sim out and back in ?
  • I have moved the sim to a new household and reset him, and it did not fix it.

I tried giving him an umbrella and resetting, taking it away and resetting, and it did not fix it.

However, I'm looking at the posture more closely and I don't think it's the umbrella pose anymore. It's kinda like how sims look when walking and holding something (such as a glass of water) but the hand is closed in a fist like when holding an umbrella. I have attached another photo.

What happens if you upload him to the gallery and place in a new game ?
  • I have done that and the problem persists. I have uploaded him online to the household named 'Dreama - Broken Walking' in case others want to test him. Note you have to make him walk around a few times before the problem shows up.

Also, I tried changing his walkstyle from 'swagger' to 'sluggish' and then 'tough' and it did not change his walkstyle at all.

  • Even though I have GF I haven't played celebrities and I just realized that the weird walkstyle is the celebrity walkstyle. I immediately quit the spotlight and reset the sim but the walkstyle remained.

IT WORKED!!!! I thought I had tried everything and was just going to live with one very annoying vampire that would forever hold her invisible umbrella walking around the mansion x.x I am SOOOO glad I found this!
