Sims 4 - Townies not Aging?

Hello

I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong here.

I have four households that I rotate through - I play each one for a week. However, I would like the unplayed townies to age alongside my played households.

What I thought would work is to turn Auto Age OFF for unplayed sims (so uncheck the box), and then have one of my households be the "aging week" household, so for her household I check the box to turn it ON.

None of my townies are aging! I've played through two weeks of the Auto Age box checked for unplayed Sims and no one has aged up. I switched to the Villaforte family to see what was up and saw that the teen, the child, and the father all have "5 days until aging up". Same was true for the adult, teen, and child at the goth family (i clicked the icon to mark them as unplayed after checking to see)

What's going on? Am I confusing something about the aging options? Is my game glitched? I'm pretty annoyed because I want natural story progression and want the townie sims to age up when mine do - it's weird how my young adult sims friends' are all teenagers. I know I can age up individual townie sims with the birthday cake but I would like them all to age naturally when I am playing my fourth household.

  • You need to turn auto aging on for everyone.

So basically there's three kind of Sims

    Unplayed, Played and active

The active Sims are the ones you currently play

Played Sims are Sims you have played at one time but not at the moment

Unplayed Sims are Sims that you have never played

If you want to all of these groups to age, you need to turn on aging for all of them.

  • I want my active household to age and I want the townies to age.

But I do not want my other played households to age ☹️

So I have Auto Age - Active House Only

and then I have Auto age (unplayed sims) checked

Sorry I don't know if that was clear -

with those settings my townies aren't aging!

  • I have MC command center and then a few very basic mods (added hairstyles/clothing options).

Then maybe MCCC is overriding your settings.

Check what you have set with MCCC or remove the mod to see if the issue persists.
