FIXED!
I had to uninstall Origin completely and delete the folders. Once I reinstalled the game worked.

Trying on my tower now, This might almost make sense since I had to do a fresh install of Origin on my laptop and it works there.

SO if you have more than one hard drive and origin is not actually installed in windows the game has a shitfit.......ffs EA
Just reinstall the origin client on top of the old install and it should work

Yeah. The only way I could get it to work was to install like 3 copies of origin all over the place. I was having the same error, and this was the only thing that allowed mine to run. My desktop looks like an abomination, but the game finally works. Uh... success, I guess.

Confirmed this fixed it. To be safe I reinstalled Origins on the same hardrive as windows and the game on my storage drive.

Delete what folders?

So the solution is to uninstall Origin and not the Sims4?

This is just so much more horseshit.
Why, with every launch of every game for the last 3 years have we had to deal with this? I'm paying a premium price for these games. I shouldn't have to do 3 hours of troubleshooting then 2 more hours of reinstallation after forking over $70.
Just so much more horseshit...
