Sims 4 backup file won’t work

Question

Hi everyone!&nbsp;So I had a problem with origin not updating sims and I had to reinstall the game. I made a backup folder but for some reason it won’t work - when I load sims up it’s like it’s a completely new game and none of my old families/mods are on it. I’ve tried to look online but nothing seems to work. If anyone can help me that’d be great! 😊

@Cloch5&nbsp;You need to copy the contents of the Saves folder and the Tray folder&nbsp; from your backup to the new folders that were created.

In that case you have not placed them in the correct folders.&nbsp;Here is an easy way to find out which folder your game is using: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

Sorry for the late reply, I have done that and there are files in it but still don’t come up when I start the game :/&nbsp;

@Cloch5 Did you make a backup of the complete The Sims 4 folder? When you did that you can copy this backup folder and replace it in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. This will bring back any save, old family and your mods.
