Sims 4 black screen when selecting anything in build/buy

Everytime I select anything in build/buy the screen goes black. If I tab to the desktop and then back the screen will be back but anytime I click anything including options or switching to live mode ...

Your graphics card is a bit underpowered and could do with an graphics update but I don't think that's the issue.

Did you turn off Origin in Game ?

 Yes, I have done that before, but I do not remember it working.  I will try it and get back to you.

    Just tried it and it did not work; still a black screen.

      Did you try a clean boot and repairing the game yet ?

        I have not done any of those.  How would I do both of those and would it harm my computer?
