Sims 4 Cannot Handle Frame Rate

    @Sims3Geeeek  Your dxdiag doesn't show any evidence of a problem with your graphics card, which is also powerful enough that running Sims 4 should never be a problem no matter what settings you use.  So I'm wondering whether the problem is actually the monitor's cable or the port it's using.

    Do you have a spare HDMI cable lying around, or one that you could borrow for testing?  If so, please try that.  With the computer and monitor turned off, disconnect the cable, which uses DisplayPort, and connect the HDMI cable instead, then turn on the computer and test.  Your graphics card has two HDMI ports, and your monitor has one.

    If you don't have a spare HDMI cable, do you have a DisplayPort cable?  You could test that as well.  Your monitor and graphics card both have 2 DP ports, so please plug the cable into the other ports as well.  Even if you have no extra cables as well, please try the other port on both the GPU and monitor, and make sure it's securely fastened at both ends.

    Additionally, there's a little piece of metal that sits inside each port on your graphics card.  This piece is parallel to the opening by default, so it's easy to bend it inwards when inserting a cable.  Please make sure not to do that: bend the metal piece outwards before inserting the cable regardless of which one you're testing with.

    Your dxdiag does show some failed Windows updates, so it's worth addressing those as well:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

    Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

        @Sims3Geeeek  That's fine, just sfc reporting that it did its job.  Please let me know how the rest of the testing goes.
