sims 4 can't run save files?

so I just updated my game to the 16/01/20 patch after not playing for a while. 

I open up the game, open up my save and load my household, bam back at the neighbourhood menu. I repeat this a couple times like a bee trying to get through a window until I give up and have to admit something is wrong. I check the forums and find a post saying to remove the saves folder, see if it works and then go though all your saves in search of the broken one. I remove all the saves and a new save works! woohoo! time for hide and seek: bug edition!

I go through 3 of my saves with the game not even opening just crashing before it reaches the start menu and start to suspect something else is an issue. I make sure the only save in the games save folder is the one I had made earlier as a test, game crashes still. hm. maybe CC? I remove all my CC. game crashes. I remove the new tester save file, game opens runs fine.

So essentially my game can't reopen if there is any save file at all.

what??? help???
