sims 4 cats and dogs and build mode cannot be saved

hi i've been trying to save changes in build mode but sometimes eg; if i place the vacuum in, i can't save the lot in build mode.

sometimes i'm not even sure what i added in that makes me can't save the changes i made in the lot. 

till now i haven't been able to play the game with the vacuum and i seem to have to save everytime i shift something in build mode just to be sure it can be saved.

    Hi @light_ylenia

    Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

    You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

    After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

    Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

    The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

    Hi @light_ylenia  

    I figure you're referring to custom content? CC it's a constant struggle, in checking for updates especially after a large update / pack such as the latest one, you simply have to check it all by removing 1 'cc folder' at a time and narrowing it down. Since the Cats and Dogs patch, there are many reported broken mods and cc. For example; I had to remove all Custom Recipes as only 1 person has their's updated.

    Over at SimsVIP they have created a very large post to include all the broken CC and Mods worth having a look there, also the Sims 4 Studio is worth having even if you don't make Custom Content, as there are always 'batch fixes', which, with 'one click' it'll fix all CC sofas and beds for example and or all 'lighting'.

    Hi Sasha,

    thanks for replying.. i tried again yesterday (removing all ccs ands mods), turns out it's just the cats and dogs pack vacuum that i can't place into the lot. i tried several lots and they all gave me the same problem. if i remove the vacuum (i tried both the expensive and the affordable ones), i can save the lot without a problem. it seems like the vacuum can't be placed at all ☹️ is it just my game having this vacuum problem?

    You're welcome, and had forgotten about that one! 🙂 (I have a bunch of decor cc ones..) I do use the cats and dogs vacuum on my lots though, and it saves fine.

    Not sure what the problem would be, apart from perhaps particular cc interfering with the ea vacuum? Perhaps @crinrict may have heard of this before or might have a better idea for you.
