Sims 4: Cheat Bar Won't Open [September 2017] [PC]

Okay, I've tried the following:

1. Using the right CTL button and the right SHIFT button and combinations with them with the left CTL and SHIFT buttons.

2. Shut down of all other apps, including loading Sims with NO other apps on.

3. Completely log out and sign out of Origin then logging back in.

4. Repairing my game.

5. Uninstalling and reinstalling Origin (This step was also done due to having problems with even loading Origin.)

6. Restarting immediately AND shutting off computer and waiting a while before turning it back on.

7. Moving the game files in and out.

NOT ONE of these has worked in successfully getting the cheat bar open.  (And before this is stated, there are NO mods installed.)

The last time I remember it working was before the newest September 12th patch, so maybe it's the patch that's causing the problems.

Any thing else I should attempt, or is this is going to be a patch fix?

Shift- F1 opens Origin in game. Not ctrl-shift-c.

While it is possible to change the shortcut to something other than shift-F1 it is not possible to change it to ctrl-shift-c.

  • the cntr-shift c is for the chat in orgin actually I think its "active chat." I found that disabling orgin in my sims game actually allowed me to bring up the cheat window. not allowing orgin to be running in the background ( as orgin has the command already bound to something causes an issue with bringing up the cheat bar on windows 10)

You can actually change it yourself if you want. Maybe it was just set wrongly for you. You can change it in the Application setting of Origin.

The voice chat you refer to do not have a keyboard shortcut. It is voice activated.

  • actually it does as I have used it before. literally says right next to active chat in my orgin (cntrl-shift-c) but just trying to help others who might have the same issue as I have had. might work for them not saying it works for everyone just saying it worked for me and it might be worth the try

Ah I see what you mean. This shortcut only works in Origin when it has focus. It has no effect on the Sims 4. or other Origin games.

Yep, I had the same issue. It's a thing that occurs when you have newer NVIDIA GeForce, and MSI graphics cards and stuff from Micro-Star International. Which, is a Computer hardware company.  So yes, For people who have MSI brand stuff and newer NVIDIA stuff. CTL+SHIFT+Windows Button+C should work.
