Sims 4 cheats not working

Hey! So I've created a new family thing and I'm trying to do FreeRealEstate [on/off] which works, but if I type in any other cheat like motherlode, rosebud, katching or even testingcheats doesn't work - it just comes up with "unable to execute command". I am using Mac and It's been working the last week and no I'm not using mods

    @datrarepepe

    Some cheats only work in certain places. The only cheat that works in the "Choose a home menu" is freerealestate. In you choose a house and go to live or build mode, can you use motherlode then? 🙂
