Sims 4 clock freezing, not allowing me to click anything

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.95.207.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I have all packs installed except Modern Menswear Kit.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Nothing seems to trigger it. I just load it and within 5 minutes, the game starts doing it.
What happens when the bug occurs? My game has been freezing since the EA App switch from Origin. Started yesterday. I have included a short video clip of what it's doing. The clock isn't moving, I can push Pause etc, but nothing affects the clock. Sims constantly in a state of movement no matter what Speed I have it on, I can't click on another Sim or click on anything for that matter. I have tried deleting all Mods, cleared out the cache, restarted the EA App, repaired the game, checked to see if my drivers are up to date and they are.
What do you expect to see? No lag, appropriate clock functions and ability to click on things.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

It's not allowing me to upload the .avi Video of where the issues are shown.

  • I am also having this issue. I have tried reinstalling the game, resetting the game folder, deleting cache, clean + reinstalled Nvidia graphics driver. Deleted cc. Uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app. Every time i play for a few sim hours and my game becomes unresponsive and time pauses and trees keep moving, the sims lighting even changes like its playing but I can't click on anything and all the sims stand still. Any suggestions?? I am so stuck. I have attached my DXDiag

@randomchick32  First, please install the Nvidia Firmware update Dell offers for your laptop, which you can find here:

    https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/g-series-15-5520-laptop/drivers

If you sort by category and scroll to the end of the list, it should be third-to-last.  Restart your computer after installing.  If you get a message that you've already installed this update, that's fine: Dell software may have downloaded and installed it automatically.

While you're on that page, download the Intel and Nvidia graphics drivers dated March 28 and December 8, respectively.  (It's best to start with the drivers Dell provides and only update if those aren't working properly.)  The next step here is to do a clean uninstall and reinstall of both drivers, as described here:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

The order of operations is uninstall the Nvidia driver > uninstall the Intel driver > restart > install the Intel driver > restart > install the Nviida driver > restart, all while your computer is offline.

When you're done reinstalling the drivers and are ready to test, please do so in a clean user folder, as in, move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop so that the game can create a new folder with no content.  Your saves and other user content won't be accessible, but that's fine: the files will all be intact in the old Sims 4 folder, and you can move them to the new folder later.  But the first step is to test in a new save with no mods or other extra content present.

I saved and exited the game, restarted it, played with a different family for about 10 minutes or so and the issue seemed to resolve itself. I hope this helps you as well!

I’m having this issues now. My sims freeze and keep doing  the same idle animations. The world will go from dark to light and the time will go from 4pm to 11pm and then back to 4pm. It stays like this for 20-30 minutes.
