Your graphics driver is from 2013, I would suggest updating that:

Sorry about the delay in responding. I appreciate your willingness to take a look and see if there was something you could spot. I followed the link today and updated my drivers. I'll write again in the next couple of days and let you know if the update solved the problem.

@Jennifer4Sims The video chip in your computer has 64Mb of dedicated video memory and the minimum requirement for this game is 128Mb of dedicated video memory. Is your computer what is called the slim case?

@roberta591, hi. I don't think so. It looks like just a regular desktop. (Sorry, I'm not tech-inclined.) Is there a way to change the allotted memory, or do I need to upgrade the video chip? I bought a refurbished computer, so it may be that the video card is outdated. I'd be happy if the solution is that simple, even if that means I'll have to save up for a new video card. No way to test that until I can afford to buy a new one.
