So the game has been running fine for a few weeks, no issues, but all of a sudden today it crashes right on the "Maxis" screen and I cant get past it. I've tried repairing the game, my video drivers are up to date, and I meet the minimum requirements, so I'm not sure what I may be missing and I'd hate to do a full reinstall. Soo, I have resolved my own problem. my friend told me to DELETE all custom content and then it should work I did that - moved my custom mods/content to a different folder and tried again - this time it went past the sims 4 loading screen and went to the main sims 4 screen! it works!!!

Hi,I just made a folder on my desktop and moved my custom content/mods there. I tried playing my game again and it worked - all custom content was replaced by something else.No, I cannot still play with the custom content since it's not in the sims 4 mods folder but I will eventually move them back to the mods folder in my sims 4 folder and hopefully it won't stop playing and continue to allow me to play my game.Hope this helpsAquarocks1

Here are a few things that you can try:
Uninstalling and reinstalling Origin (Your games will still be installed and all that)
Uninstalling and reinstalling the Sims 4 (Your saves will still be there)
Repairing the Sims 4 via Origin (Right-click the Sims 4 in your game library and click "Repair Game")
Clear the Sims 4 cache
Clear Origin's cache

I have sadly just completed doing all the things you have recommend and sadly I am in the same situation. Nothing has changed on my computer, I havent installed any new software or anything so I can understand while the all of a sudden problem. Any other games I have play fine, and most are much more demanding then this one. Not sure what to do here.

I'm having a similar problem, I open the game and it goes past the EA symbol and the maxis one and then when it gets to loading the sims 4 screen it crashes and stops working. the past 5 months it worked until last night (march 27) and today (march 28). what do I do?

I have the same problem & i have noticed that if i erase all of my cc on my mods folder it works. However i want to keep my cc, what folder did you move your cc to? Are you still available to use your cc on the game? Please help!

No, I cannot still play with the custom content since it's not in the sims 4 mods folder but I will eventually move them back to the mods folder in my sims 4 folder and hopefully it won't stop playing and continue to allow me to play my game.

soo I tried to put back my custom content back into my folder for sims 4 and I loaded the game and it started to crash again. I think the issue is the custom content. it won't allow it so I may have to reinstall them or just forget about them, which sucks because i had some really cool custom content
