Sims 4 crashing after 22 october 2024 update

My Sims 4 keeps crashing after the update two days ago. I've tried deleted my Sims folder and disabling some of my packs, but it's still doing it. I can play okay at the sim's house but if I scroll a...

    @PetalEmms  Please force Sims 4 to use DirectX 11 mode.  Open your EA App game library, select Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and add -dx11 to the command line box.

    Separately, your C drive is somewhat low on space.  I'd suggest trying to clear another 10 GB or so, if you can.  Your external drive has plenty of space, so it shouldn't be difficult to move over some data.

I’m experiencing within a new save as well, and no cc.

@LDavis5887 and @sarah-rose1998  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a reply here.

    I am also having this problem. I thought it was a graphics driver being outdated, so I updated Windows and updated my drivers. I also play tested with a new SIms 4 folder with no CC. My game is still crashing from this problem. I ran a dxdiag but I believe it states there are no problems found. I attached it below. Any other suggestions?

        @Shelbiz2000  It looks like you've forced Sims 4 to run in DirectX 9 mode.  Does it work better in DX11 mode?  Please undo whichever setting is forcing DX9 and let me know.

        If you get another crash, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

        Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to play Sims 4, specifically in DX11 mode.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
