@jazzie205 Thanks for the dxdiag, which shows a pile of errors related to a component of a VC++ runtime. I'm not sure which one it is based on the error, but in any case, it could be caused by a bad mod or cc item, or by a corrupt runtime, or by something else entirely. So please make sure that your Mods folder didn't sneak back in, which wouldn't be entirely surprising if OneDrive is in play.
Assuming your mods are in fact not loading in-game, please start with a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Next, please uninstall the 2010, 2013, and 2015 and newer VC++ runtimes. Hit Windows key-i, select Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, select each relevant one in turn, and click Uninstall. You can ignore the 2012 versions and anything older than 2010; Sims 4 doesn't use those.
Restart your computer and reinstall the runtimes, which you can get here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
You need both the x86 and x64 versions but can skip the ARM version of each one. Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.
If the game crashes again, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day. Today is on the right.
Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to launch Sims 4, specifically after reinstalling the runtimes. If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here. If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
