Sims 4 crashing my monitors/computer

I'm able to launch the game, but trying to load any lot at all has been causing my computer to completely crash. What happens is that both of my monitors go black and the fans on my computer start going max speed. I have to hold down the power button to get things to work again every time this happens.

So far I followed all of the steps to clean uninstall and reinstall my graphics driver, and I still keep having this full system crash when I try to play the game.

Uploading my DxDiag, let me know if anything else is needed.

  • @PyxlePyxie  Thanks for the dxdiag, and doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of the graphics driver would have been my first suggestion.  The unfortunate thing about a dxdiag is that its errors aren't timestamped, so I can't tell whether the Nvidia driver-related errors listed are from before or after you reinstalled the driver.  I do see that the newest error is from the EA App, so please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine).  Use the Intensive scanning method, and restart your computer before reinstalling the App.

Your dxdiag also lists one crash of the USB 3 driver.  It's probably not serious, and you might be able to fix the underlying issue by disconnecting all USB 3 devices and restarting the computer.

Please try again to play, and if you get another game or system crash, look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of this most recent crash.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
