My game also keeps crashing, sometimes 5 minutes in, sometimes 15. I have tried every single solution listed on the internet.
I play with no Mods or CC. I'm on a brand new PC. It will give me the 'windows has stopped responding' error message, which the only option is to close the dialogue box.
I've attached DXDiag and event manager error report.
These are all the things I've tried (I've done so many I may have forgotten some too!)
- played in windowed display
- lowered my graphics in the game
- downloaded DriverEasy and updated every single one
- downloaded Fortect and repaired all issues.
- reinstalled EA App and reinstalled the game
- updated windows (even updated it to windows 11)
- tested everything in 3DMark and got a 'legendary' score
- downloaded CoreTemp and tested CPU and GPU to see if overheating - they're not
- Moved the Sims 4 folder to my desktop
- downloaded a program to make sure my PC was compatible with the game - it is
- updated my DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables
- started PC on a clean boot/safe mode - still crashed.
- deleted my saves and started fresh.
- deleted caches
- used 'repair' feature in EA app
- removed all in game inlays from all apps
- run in compatibility mode and run as administrator
- antivirus disabled/The Sims 4 is an exception (only use windows defender anyway)
- used command manager to complete DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and also sfc /scannow
