Sims 4 Data/Mods/Cache does not show up in game?
Could someone please help me? I'm really stressed, I have spent hours creating these games and now they're all gone.
I opened my Sims 4 game up with morning and found that it opened with no memory of my saves, mods, screenshots, anything. First thing I tried to do was to restore a save state on my computer, but it failed because of an unrelated issue. However, suddenly, all of the files reappeared in the Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 4 folder. The saves are all there, the screenshots, the cache, and all the cc/mods. Yet, when I booted up the game, it still started up as a new game. So I tried a few things:
- I renamed the saves and took out the "ver #" ending, and it didn't work. I also tried to take out individual saves to see if one was simply corrupted, and that didn't work either.
- Then, I tried to start a new household in the "new" sims start up screen and see if enabling the load button would help all the content pop up... it didn't.
- I tried deleting OneDrive off of my computer, to see if the Sims was somehow picking up information from an old save on there. It didn't do anything.
- Finally, I tried to repair the game on Origin twice, but the game still has no memory of any of my mods or saves. It just kept booting up the one Sim I made as a test.
What should I do? It almost feels like the Sims 4 game created a new set of folders that it is functioning on, rather than the set that I have in Documents. I have no idea how to proceed, it feels like I've tried everything.... Please advise?
- @JulijaPivo Try following these instructions to find out which folder your game is using: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/
Then move all the files there and they should show up again
