Sims 4 downloaded to my second hard drive but not opening with it
HI all!
I recently realized that I was running low on my main hard drive (C: ) so in order to clear up some space I moved my sims and all the mods for it to my second drive (D: ).
I moved not only the electronic games file but also the origin files containing it as well. I checked the location for my sims on origin and its registering that its under D: and I made sure all saves and downloads for origin are under D: as well. However, when I run my game it only pulls it from C: or the back up from Onedrive that is also on C:, I thought a simple fix to this was uninstalling and reinstalling under D: rather than just moving it but its the same issue. My game starts brand new and I cant find where its starting from so I can try and mod my game again. I have uninstalled both Sims and Origin and changed all location paths but I have noticed that in Sims settings itself it wont allow me to change my capture location out of C:. Any ideas?
TLDR; sims was moved from C: to D: but will only start up the game through a C: location I cant find so I cant mod my game anymore.
@BanditoPoppito Moving the game's installed files, or uninstalling and reinstalling through Origin, doesn't change the location the user data is stored, which is always going to be Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. If you want to move that folder too, you have two options. One is to redirect all of Documents to D, which is simple and supported by Windows:

The other option is to create a symbolic link to point the game to your Sims 4 user folder on D:
If you do this, please back up your saves and other content beforehand, just in case something goes wrong in the process.
