Sims 4 folder is completely gone and sims will not open

@Autumumnwars  Did you try repairing the game within Steam?  The option is called "verify the integrity of the game files," and it's under Properties > Local files.

If that doesn't work, please post a screenshot of the error you see.  You can take one by clicking Windows key-shift-S and dragging your cursor over the window.

I just now tried it but it did not work, the sims 4 file under Electronic Arts is still missing and the game still will not open sadly.

@Autumumnwars  The Sims 4 folder in Electronic Arts won't be created until the game launches, so that's to be expected.  Please try clearing Origin's cache and uninstalling Origin "the hard way":

Reinstall Origin using the full installer (direct download link):

http://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe

Run the installer as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart when you're done.  Then open both Steam and Origin as an admin before trying to play.

If that doesn't help, please let me know what antivirus, if any, you run, and whether you use OneDrive.

I got a different error this time so something is working haha. This time it says sims is already running and I got a notification from my antivirus (Its in the corner of the screen, you can see it in my screenshot!) I also was unsure what antivirus I used so I just took a screenshot of my antivirus settings area, if there is somewhere else I can look or you need to know something different, just let me know!

@Autumumnwars  Controlled Folder Access is part of the built-in Windows Defender, and it could definitely block Sims 4 from writing to Documents.  You can disable it or change its settings, whichever you prefer:

If you do change the settings, it's a good idea to add both Origin.exe and Steam.exe as well as the game's executable.
