Sims 4 freezes after downloading Gallery sim

Omg those technical issues are the reason I am not buying anymore of the aditional content for Sims.

So today I spent like 7hours (I know I know, not my proudest moment, anyway...) building a house. Saved it many times into my galery. When I was out of building mode I went to create a new sim to live in it. However, I decided to download one from the galery. So I merged few sims and guess what, the game freezed.  The game did not actually crash, I had to force restart my pc as I could not save the game at this point, I could not get onto task manager. So total deadend at this point as usually. There were no reports of broken mods either, so I guess the sim from the gallery had something to do with it, as as soon as it got into the lobby I could not do anything. Soooo anoying, oh and yeah after I started the game again all my days work put into making a house, was gone.

  • giedresaidi  Did you save your house to the Gallery, as in, where anyone can see it; or only to your in-game Library, for your own use?  Did you use custom content?  If so, you'd need to check the box to show items with cc in them, or your creation would be hidden from you as well.

Please also let me know whether there are any files in your Tray folder that have time stamps that could match any of the times you saved your progress.

In the future, if you can't see the Task Manager but ctrl-alt-delete does bring up the usual menu, select Sign Out instead.  You'll be booted back to the Windows login screen, and the game and any other apps you were using will be closed.

    hello,

I saved it only to my in-game library, for my own use. Yes, there were custom content, but there were no option on saving the lot to my library, so i did not check any box for showing cc items. Since I was in build mode all day I did not actually save the game itself, and just went to create sim after I left building mode. After I restarted my pc and opened game there were no new saves (cause i did not save the game) just the one I entered when started building the house.

Like mentioned before, game freezed when i was adding sim from the gallery (not my library). There are no records of me doing that either.

I am guessing that there is nothing that could be done at this point.

I did try ctrl-alt-delete and it showed the usual options including sign out, I did not know I could try to sign out instead. Anyway, thanks for your response. I apreciate your time and effort in trying to help.

  • giedresaidi  I'm wondering whether there are any files in Tray (in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4) with a time stamp that corresponds to the time you saved.  Essentially, my question is do these files exist, but the game can't read them; or do they not exist at all?
