Sims 4 game crashing after February update 2024

    @Maame18  Please check Windows Defender or your third-party antivirus, whichever you use, for any recent actions related to Sims 4.  If you find anything, set exceptions for TS4_x64.exe and EADesktop.exe.

    If that doesn't help, please try the suggestion here (post 17):

    Even though you have a different model Surface and a different graphics driver, your laptop may have the same settings available, and those settings may be incompatible with Sims 4.

@Maame18  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and let me know how it runs.

If you get another crash, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

        Thank you! it works I just had to turn off controlled folder access in window security and then ransomware protection.
