Sims 4 game freezes 9/10 times played
It's been doing this ever since I downloaded the game on Origin early last year. In the past, my computer has frozen while using other programs, but for QUITE a while now it's ONLY been with the Sims...
@immunetree2 Other files in your game folder can become corrupted and cause problems; mods and cc are just the most common cause. An individual save can also be corrupt, or it can be overloaded to the point where the game will crash when trying to run it on an underpowered computer. Sometimes it's difficult to know exactly what the problem is.
If you want to keep testing, you can start adding content to your clean game folder to see whether you get any more crashes. Leave your saves for last, after you're satisfied that everything else works. Aside from saves, the only files you would want to keep are in Tray and possibly Mods; the rest are disposable and will regenerate as necessary.
