Sims 4 Get to Work Greyed Out in "My Packs," no content showing in game

I bought the disc of Sims 4 GTW, and I was able to download and install everything just fine. I was able to hit the play button on the expansion pack no problem. But when I launched the game, none of the content showed up. It didn't pop up with any "welcome to GTW" message. I clicked on "My Packs," and it said I owned GTW but it was greyed out and said I needed to finish downloading the game, which it was already downloaded and updated and everything. I have tried literally everything to fix this problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling the games, uninstalling and reinstalling origin (in safe mode and with a clean boot; also cleaned out registries and all that jazz), repairing and updating the games... I've contacted EA four times and no one has been able to help me with this. They said they would turn the case over to the game developers but I haven't heard anything so I've given up on that. I'm hoping someone else has had a similar problem so I can play with the expansion. I'm jealous of everyone who has it working. :/

Let's try to create a new user account for windows and see if it will work over there. Make sure you make it an ADMINISTRATOR account.

Here is how you do it on Windows 7:

Here is how you do it on Windows 8:

Make sure you LOG OFF your original account and NOT just switch users. Log onto your newly created Administrator account.

Search for Origin and try to run The Sims 4 on this new windows account.

I was able to go through the program files on both computers and see what the differences were. There was one file missing on my desktop (PathPlannerData_201410242332), so I put that file on a flash drive and put it in the program files on the desktop. I turned it on and then it worked! But then I turned it off, turned it back on, and it wasn't working again. I was so close. :/

Did the file get removed again ?

  • I checked and the file is still there... I found some other missing files and put them in their places, but still nothing's happening.

When you start the game and it's not starting, is there a process ts4.exe running at all ?
