"Sims 4 has stopped working"

I have been playing Sims since it first came out in Middle School and there's always been issues but this has been the most frustrating one! I have only had Sims 4 for about a week. Recently within the past few days after what seems like maybe 1 hour of gameplay it will freeze and say 'Sims 4 has stopped working"

I have been constantly hitting "Save As" so that I don't lose all my work but even then it doesn't have everything I saved and it constantly keeps happening. It's extremely frustrating to never know if and when my game is going to crash. My laptop if fully capable and exceeds the requirements for this game and I've already tried deleting and creating a new folder which seemed to work briefly.

What's the deal?! I'm really not wanting to continue playing just for another disappointment or frustration of losing hours of hardwork.

Sincerely,

Extremely Frustrated Sims player ☹️

  • Your tech support is beyond useless

i dont think multiple people are reporting an issue with this game for the fun of it - people have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, uninstalled and reinstalled windows

the laptop i am currently playing on has worked for all series of sims - it has only been sims 4 that has been the issue and this has only started since we are FORCED to use Origin to play Sims

Do everyone a favour and remove the need of Origin to play your games, not only are you not helpful when it comes to this game but other games on other platforms.....battlefield for xbox comes to mind is ruined when ever you decide to update/patch an issue, then EA think about stopping producing Sims because of the lack of sales, ever think the lack of sales is down to the fact people CANNOT play your games?

crashing issue is nothing to do with windows it is down to the game - i would take the amount of forums, post and general internet searches to find that this is an issue at your end and not on our laptops/PC's

REMOVE ORIGIN AND LET US PLAY THIS GAME THE WAY YOU WANTED US TOO

jade_hooker87 - Origin is the drm EA chose to use. I doubt at this point EA will change the drm. I doubt if EA will release this game w/o drm. If you are getting the message that Windows has stopped working then there is a problem with Windows and/or the game. Getting that message means Windows have stopped the program for some reason. I have found Windows to be a stable operating environment and the trouble usually is a hardware problem or a software issue. Sherlock Holmes has said "when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains , however improbable, must be the truth". IF you are seeing the message Windows will log the issue that you can see by using the event viewer and that should point you in the general direction whether it is a computer or software issue. While there may be an issue with Origin, many people don't seem to have problems. To narrow issues to software (game) you must determine why the computer is crashing. If this was a perfect world drm would not be needed. I don't like drm but have come to accept it and live with it. As EA will probably never release the source code you need to analyze your computer by using the event viewer and determine why Windows doesn't like the software. Does your hardware meet the minimum requirements? What does the event viewer list as the problem?

Crin - "Post your Computer's DxDiag"

Actually this don't account/matter because my running options are all uncompatible with sims 4 (basicly not meant to work for this pc)  but it still runs brilliantly, like any other pc playing sims 4. my graphics card is to old for the sims 4 graphic but it still works without these requirements... (it for best running options)

I played sims 4 on an 2005 xp before this pc and it WORKED just it a little slower that all, but i have win 7 now and a new pc...

Yeah im having the same cc problem too

Mine doesn't even start. It stops and freezes when it says the sims 4 and then windows checks for a solution but never finds one... could it be cc?

I'm answering you in your own thread

Locking this as you should make your own thread if you have crashing issues
