Since the latest SIMS 4 update my entire in-game data and progress has disappeared. I have tried repairing the game but every time I start it, it leads me to the character creation menu and all my lots and households are not only gone from my game but also from my library.Renaming the slot_* files in the saves folder doesn't work either.

If you press "load game" rather than the play button, are your saves there?

@Coley666 It doesn't even give me the option to load the game. I have also tried repairing it but that doesn't work either.

@Coley666 I've tried looking into it more deeply and it seems as if the game itself doesn't even read the "The Sims 4" file. After creating a new household not even my mods are available in-game, even after I have manually enabled them. However my "The Sims 4" file still has the mods and 9 slot_* files.

Are you on Mac or PC?
If you're on a PC probably your computer is arbitrarily moving The Sims 4 folder or only Saves folder to One Drive. Turn it off.

@kreatora Somehow that doesn't work either. I have also tried recovering the older version of the Sims but even that doesn't help.
I can't even start a new game since I won't be able to use any mods and I could potentially lose any progress I am going to make. I have contacted EA as well but so far have received no answer.

Every time when the computer is moving your TS4 game folder to another place the game creates a new clean TS4 folder without your old saves and mods.
You need to find a location where this previous game folder with mods and saves is now.

@kreatora I have located the both TS4 and TS4_x64 files and the sims4 file with my saves. Do I need to enter the path to the sims4 folder somewhere so the game can access it?
As to the TS4 folders, I have so far found only each of the above, no older or newer versions.

I actually found the folder the game is linked to and managed to transfer the mods and savefiles. At first it deleted the files again but on the second try everything works well.
