Sims 4 is already running error

I keep getting this error. My game worked in origin but ever since I downloaded the EA app this message has popped up. I have tried the firewall trick,  one drive, moving my mods, uninstalling and reinstalling the EA app, uninstalling and reinstalling The Sims, clearing my localcache, and none of these worked. I do have an external hard drive but I have installed on my PC and it still didn't work. I have also restarted my computer as well. I dont know what to do atp. I uploaded my dxdiag.txt if that helps

  • @queenliaaaaaaa  What settings did you change in OneDrive?  What is the full file path to your Documents directory?  To find out, search for "command" in Windows, open Command Prompt, and enter this:

reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"

Please list the file path it spits out.  You can write [username] instead of your actual username, if you want, but leave the rest intact, and let me know if the username you see is NOT the one tied to your current Windows account.

Please also let me know what antivirus you use.

@queenliaaaaaaa  Please disable McAfee, at leat temporarily, and try again to play.  As long as you don't open anything other than Sims 4, your computer should be safe.

If that doesn't help, please try playing in a new admin Windows account.  Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services you normally use.  You'll be able to launch Sims 4 without reinstalling it, but your saves and other content won't be available.  That's fine; this is just a test, and if it works, that just means the cause of this error is something specific to your main account, so we know where to look next.
