Sims 4 is using a lot of my system resources

I have a windows 10 64bits PC.

Just noticed that the Sims 4 is now using almost half my CPU as well as all of my GPU. Before the update for DU the game would not do that. I could comfortably run a browser, other apps and my video recording software without incident and my CPU would not spike above 30%. Now just running the game my CPU is spiking almost to 50% and all of my GPU is being used.

I have an Intel i7 CPU and an Nvidia GTX 660 GPU. My system exceeds the recommended specs and I should be able to run multiple apps without a problem.

My computer isn't chugging, however, I am concerned that it is running like this:

Why is the game using so many resources now?

I thought it was supposed to be running more efficiently now that it is natively 64bits.
