Sims 4 keeps getting stuck on the loading screen

    @Death_Angel2221  Please update your computer's graphics driver.  You can get the newest one here:

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/

    Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Choose the Custom (not Express) install method, and check the box to perform a clean install.  Restart your computer afterwards and before trying to play.

    Please let me know what works and what doesn't, still with no mods or custom content.  It's possible that you're seeing multiple issues, for example trying to load a lot using the Off the Grid challenge can cause infinite loading, but that would have no bearing on CAS.

    @sovereignsimmer  As noted above, Off the Grid is currently broken.  For anything else, please post in Game Issues since your problem sounds limited to certain households or lots.  When the game works fine some of the time—with certain households or certain saves but not others—it's almost always an in-game issue or bug.

Same issue. I removed all my mods and cc and tried to open a house and its an infinite loading screen as well. This has happened on several houses. I repaired my game without mods in as well and removed the cache files. Please help, attached is my dxdiag.

    @Btrflie  Your dxdiag shows that the AMD graphics chip is disabled, perhaps in the Device Manager.  While Sims 4 should be using the Nvidia driver, this is a problem that should still be addressed.  Click Windows key-X, select the Device Manager, expand Display adapters, right-click the AMD Radeon device, and select Enable device.  Restart your computer afterwards.

    As said though, this shouldn't impact Sims 4 to such an extent.  Do you get stuck on the loading screen no matter which lot you try to load?  Please try a couple of default EA lots for comparison's sake, and a new save if all lots in your main save are affected.  It's important to find out whether this problem is universal across all lots and saves or is limited in some way.

      Ok I'll try that. I tried 3 different houses in 3 different worlds in one save. And only 1 would load.

      So I did all that and restarted my computer. My display is different btw, resolution, font sizes. I restarted the game and went to a lot but it asked me to choose a household to visit the lot with. So I decided to visit with some of the family members of one of the other lots that wouldnt load and it actually loaded which was crazy. So I went back to try to load their lot again and infinite loading screen again so I x'd out.

        @Btrflie  It sounds like the sims aren't the problem but the lot itself, which is good since you can probably fix the save overall.

        Please leave your Mods folder removed.  Open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you see.  Try again to load this problem lot, where the sims live that you could load elsewhere, and let the game get stuck.  Look for a new lastexception.  If you find one, open it (Notepad is fine) and delete its first line, then attach it to a reply here, as a text file.  If the site rejects it, you can copy and paste its contents; just use a spoiler tag since the text can be very long.
