Okay I've done it and I'm testing it. Should it make the game perform better? Since it's onlysince getting the card not recognised has the games performance been janky.

How do you check?
The game still stutters but not as much as it did.

Open the Config.log file in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.
Near the top under === Graphics device info === check the Found and Supported values are 1. - 7 years ago
It found it and it says it supports it. Game still stutters a bit and lags when there's more than 10 Sims in a lot. But it's more playable than it was. I just can't scroll anywhere without the camera skipping

Great! You've successfully added your card. Not sure about the skipping, maybe you just need to tweak the in-game graphics settings a bit?
