Sims 4 "launches" but wont load

hi all

I've been looking through all the forums posts and doing what others have suggested, but i cant for the life of me get sims 4 to load

task manager says its launched, but the game wont pop

I've repaired, moved, deleted and reinstalled, made exceptions in defender and my antivirus of choice, given admin clearance to the app and the game, tried to boot it in windows 8 compatability mode. nothing I've done so far will make it load

yet I launch the game on my work laptop and it runs fine!

getting pretty frustrated, any feedback from people with this happening, or officials is more then welcome

thank you for your time

B

  • @xDankman  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't or didn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
