Sims 4: Lost data and game progress

      Just recently I opened Origin to play Sims 4. When clicking play on the main menu of the game, I was shocked to find out that I was sent back to the beginning of create a sim and could not access the already made families. This has been twice now that this issue has happened. No, I did not back up my data and I was thinking I shouldn't have to at the moment. I wouldn't make such big deal out of this if it hadn't happened more than once now of having my game completely wiped out except for the reminder of hours I have played the game on origin. If I can have any information to at least stop this from happening again, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    If the saves are no where to be found on your computer, there's not much you can do other than to start over.

    My recommendation for the future: Backup your saves and user files on a regular basis: http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/backups/

    Also save the Sims your like to the gallery and your library and also back that up.

    @Candyilona  So you're saying that if you test each save in succession, renaming each one to slot_00000002 (they should always have the same number of zeros they do now), and remove the other saves from your Saves folder, none of the saves will load?

    You can try the same thing in a clean game folder to see whether you have any more luck.  Pull the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts; you can put it on your desktop.  Launch the game once to create a new folder.  Then move each save over one at a time, being sure to rename them so the game can read them.  Any that work you can put aside and organize later; any that don't might not be salvageable/

    @puzzlezaddict Thank you so much!! I pulled the entire Sims 4 save-folder to desktop and launched the game. Then I moved one save to folder and it WORKED! Everything is back! I´m so grateful for you.

    try going into the recycling bin, I accidentally deleted all my sims 4 files and was able to get them all back and working by using the recycle bin, recovering them, and dragging them back into files. It worked for me hope it works for you.

    hey did you dlelite a mod or get a mod or moved stuff in your flies? becuase it happened to me too and i was moving stuff and yeah
