SIMS 4 Mac Screen resolution

Hello. I have tried everything I can think of here. When I start up the SIMS on my MacPro, everything starts fine. I start to play a family and as soon as I give a command of any kind, or start to build or buy anything, the screen resolution changes to something else.  It looks like 640x480. I can still scroll around the screen, but the size of things is  huge. For example, a refrigerator takes up almost the entire screen. Settings, however, haven't change. They remain where I set them. I have a HD monitor that is set at 1080p, but I have tried different settings (1680x1050, 1280x800, 1024x640, etc) and the same thing happens. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Try to play in Windowed mode first and save your settings there. Play for awhile and then try to play fullscreen. I've never tried to match my exact screen settings as some games I have to run in a different setting to allow me to read the game menus and stuff.

  • Are you applying and saving your settings? Make sure to apply the changes and then save the settings.

I bought the game from Origin. I am saving the settings. I have tried matching the screen resolution settings on my monitor to the resolution setting in the game. Everything is fine when I start the game, then as soon as I do anything at all, the resolution changes. I have quite a few other games from Origin and none of them cause any screen resolution problems. I checked and double checked the system requirements before I bought the game, and my MacPro should be able to easily handle the game. Any ideas? Thanks.

I tried that, and for some reason it seems to have fixed the problem. Now it just opens into full screen and everything seems ok. Thanks for the suggestion.
