Sims 4 Not Launching Corrupted Files (Fresh Install No Mods)

Hello All, I just downloaded The Sims 4 on my computer and every time I try to launch the game it won't work due to corrupted files. I am trying to play on a Dell G5 with a GeForce RTX graphics and ...

@rlmsas  Please make sure the game is using your Nvidia card rather than the integrated Intel chip.  Normally, you could check by opening config.log, inside your game folder in Documents.  The relevant lines would be about 30 lines down, listing the card TS4 was using.  But you might not have a config file, given how the game errors out so soon.

Whether you have a config file or not, you can force TS4 to use the Nvidia card through the built-in Nvidia Control Panel; right-click on your desktop to access it.  Then click Manage 3D Settings on the left, click the Program Settings tab, select TS4_64.exe, and you should have the option to force the game to use the high-performance card.  (I don't have a system with a dual Intel/Nvidia setup, so I don't know the exact wording.)

Have you noticed your Intel GPU driver crashing lately?  The screen would go dark (or maybe another solid color) for no apparent reason, even if the laptop didn't shut down or restart.

Your dxdiag lists a few different kinds of errors, although none related to Origin or Sims 4.  (It only keeps the last 10, so that's not a complete surprise.)  Given the errors, it's a good idea to start by checking Windows system files.  Here's how:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here
    • Restart your computer

Next, remove your Sims 4 game folder (if you have one) from Documents\Electronic Arts, just to be thorough.  Run Origin as an admin: right-click on the Origin shortcut and select Run as Administrator.  Repair Sims 4 again, then launch it.  If you get the same error, disable any antivirus/firewall programs you have running, run Origin again as admin, repair, and try to launch.

If none of this helps, hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" (without quotes) into the box.  Look for any entries from the last two days that mention Sims 4 or Origin, click "view technical details," copy and paste the info for each entry into a text file, and attach it here.
