Sims 4 not working with BT headset

Hi.

I have been looking trough the forums, but can't find one that applies to my issue.
If there already is a post abot this, please reffer me to that and I will delete this one.

I have downloaded the Sims 4 via Origin. The game runs fine in every way, but when i activate bluetooth and connect a headset or a speaker, Sims 4 behaves in a wierd way.

The intro is not working, just keeps on loading for minutes untill i click the mouse button twice. There is no sound at all, even if there is sound on other games and aplications trough the bluetooth headset.
When i try to close the game (save and then exit / save & exit) nothing happens. I have to either log off or turn the PC on and of again.

When I disable the bluetooth everything works fine... I have tested different kind of BT speakers and headsets. The same happens with all.

Is there something I can do, or do I have to accept that it won't work with a BT device at all?

  • @Bubleh  The Realtek audio driver is crashing over and over and probably causing the game to lock up.  It's also probably why the Bluetooth devices aren't working.  Unfortunately, Acer doesn't offer a newer driver for your laptop, although you could let Windows find one for you.  First though, try playing in a clean boot, in case something else is conflicting.

If that doesn't help, try updating the relevant device drivers.  Hit Windows key-X and select the Device Manager, open the "Audio inputs and outputs" section, click on each device in turn, and click the green and black Update icon at the top of the screen.  Repeat for the "Bluetooth" and "Sound, video and game controllers" sections.

@puzzlezaddict  This happens even if the BT is connected before origin is opened, after it is opened. It makes no difference.
I'm not sure if this is a recent problem since it's been a while since i last played Sims 4 with a headset.

    I've added the dxdiag note.

@puzzlezaddict Thank you for the answer. I will try this solution, if it wont work I will try to ask Windows if they have any suggestions.

If nothing goes, I guess there is not much I can do 🙂

Thank you again for the rapid answer and the probable solutiont. Wont be able to do it tonight, but I'll give an update as soon as I can.

    Try this:

Settings / System / Sound / Sound Control Panel / Communications / Set to “Do nothing”
