Sims 4 origin dlc not working with steam base game

Hi, so I’ve read a lot of articles and forums that confirmed that as long as you have the base game Sims 4 on Steam, you can play your DLC purchased through origin on it. When I open my Sim 4 for steam it shows my DLC’s highlighted but says “download to use” and gives no option to download them. I’ve tried to manually import the DLC’s to my steam Sims 4 files but still did not work.

Anyway to fix this?? The Sims 4 that I play through origins is very laggy and for some reason the Steam version runs smoother.

    @Caitlinxzz  Can you download the packs through Origin?  Open your game library, click on the Sims 4 icon (probably the one with the Steam logo on it), select More > Expansion Packs, and click the Download button for any pack you own.  Repeat for More > Game Packs and Stuff Packs.

    Origin is using excessive CPU resources for a number of people these days, which could cause lag and other performance issues.  The workaround is to put Origin in offline mode.

    fo me its the opposite i dowloaded sims on the ea app after buying it origanally on steam but it says i dont own the dlc but i  says i own it on the origin app and on steam but  i wont let me download it of on them, does anyone know how to fix this?

    @WykedAngel  Which packs are installed but not loading?  Do you, like the original poster, have a Steam install with some packs purchased through the EA App?  If not, do you own everything through Steam or through the EA App?

    I have the base game on steam and the expansion packs and game pack on EA app since it no longer lets you use origin. It shows i own the packs but none of them are installed with steam. I had to deleted the base game from steam and just use the bas game back on EA for them to work.
