Sims 4 PC Aging Glitch

So my Sims 4 PC game has a weird glitch that I can't seem to get rid of. Whenever my Sim's birthday comes up, and the Simology bar is sparkling, the game won't allow the Sim to age up. The actions 'make a wish' and 'blow out candles' are faded out, and when I hover over them, it says my Sim can't age up yet. However, any Sim whose birthday hasn't come up yet can blow out the candles and age up. If I wanted to (and I've actually done this to see if it worked), the minute I started playing I could make my Sim bake a cake and keep aging up. Within less than a minute, I can make my Sim age up from a young adult to an elder. I've reinstalled the game twice now, but it doesn't help at all. How can I get rid of this glitch?

  • Any Mods or Custom Content?
Try moving your Mods folder to the desktop.
Then test to see if the option is there.
Any chance your Sim is pregnant?
Pregnant Sims cannot age up until after the baby is born.

I moved my Mods folder to my desktop but that didn't help.

And the glitch happens even when the Sim is not pregnant.

    Nope, just your typical Sim.

I did some more experimenting today, and I found out that I can even adopt a baby and age it up to an elder in minutes!

I've also removed my mods now, but everything's still the same.

Did you create the Sim yourself or is he an NPC?

There are some hidden traits that come with City Living, which can cause this issue.

If you suspect this could be the case you can opt to download a mod called 'Sims Info' (can't link it as that is against the TOS).

With that you can check what hidden traits your Sim has.

I have tried both. I have tried creating a Sim myself and tried using one of the default ones. Nothing works.

I do have City Living, but my friend and I use the same account. We both have no mods, and since we use the same account, we use the same expansion packs, and her game works just fine. I am starting to think that my laptop is causing said issue. However, I will not rule out the chance that it could come from City Living.
