Sims 4 running high memory in task manager?

Hi there!

So, I'm having issues with gameplay on my Sims 4. I've found other topics related to this subject but never really fits my situation. I just recently installed Origin/Sims 4 on my new laptop PC. A couple days ago, I played most of the day getting used to it again and early in the morning, I noticed it was glitching.) So I decided to stop and would play again later. I brought up the task manager during this and noticed Origin was running at 100% CPU and thought that was odd and would investigate later.

Tried playing today and experienced the same--maybe 2 minutes of actual gameplay--before it glitched/crashed and I had to close the game. This time I noticed The Sims 4 in task manger was running at a higher CPU and around 10k MB in the memory column and started investigating what this could be. Some things to note:

- I'm using Windows 10

- Literally got this laptop (HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-eb1xxx) less than 3 weeks ago, so I know it's fully capable of handling Sims.

- I have no mods currently installed. (Just Sims 4 base game and a few EPs)

- I can follow directions well (if this is an installation problem or something) but I'm not very technological savvy when it comes to gaming/computer terms.

I just really don't know why the Sims software doesn't want to work anymore after 24 hours on a brand new laptop and not many files/programs on it to slow it down. Any insight would be extremely helpful!
