I preordered the game -- I was super excited to know that the expansion was coming out. I bought the game just hours before it was suppose to release bc I ordered pets after that launch and I had so many problems with it. So I open it up and I try to load my game (with mods) and it says it's not working and to please relaunch game. I do that and I have the same problem. I create a new load (without mods) and it still doesn't work...I'm gonna try removing the mods folder and see if that works, but is anyone else having the same problem? I swear I've been having the worst luck with the sims this year...
Well, first up never load the game with a new pack with the mods enabled.. it's why they (mods/cc) are 'auto turned off' when you purchase and download a new Sims 4 Pack
With all the mods and cc removed.. click to repair game - the little cog next to 'play' for Sims. If this doesn't work: Because you tried first with the mods in you may need to do a clean boot. >>
There is a step by step here on Clearing Cache Files(you can also move it to the desktop instead of deleting if you want to be on the safe side).
Another idea for you is to to a Clean Bootof your pc.
Once it's working again - be very careful before adding any mods or cc back into your game:
So, apart from culling your folders one by one, or the 50/50 method, to narrow down the broken cc or mod, that is all you can do, (restarting and checking your game each time) you'll simply need to find the broken mod/cc it and remove it. The Sims 4 Studio is also good for batch fixes.
Mods & cc are well known to cause various in-game issues please check for updates to them / where you found them; do this also > after any sims update or adding a game pack,SimsVIP also do a regular post for people who use cc; on which ones are broken or now updated; All on the one page too, and the best list. Also theEA Forums do a regular post for the broken cc.
Please start your own new issue - apart from a clean boot and clear cache but start your own thread, at any rate. (Do not continue here, on another's thread).
