It's work for me. Go to EA folder(or where ever you install it) . The sims 4 folder be there just delete The whole sim folder in the trash bin. (I do drag save game folder down in my desktop because I want my save game). After that you start game from desktop.it should work. The game will create new folder( the sim4 folder) to replace the one you delete. The save game folder will be empty. I then delete the empty save game folder and then replace with the one I drag down to desktop. Then play game.
One odd program I've found causes the game to crash on the initial Plumbob loading screen is NTI Backup Now EZ (its a backup program bundled with some Toshiba External hard drives) if you've installed this, just right click its system tray icon and close it.
