nothing to do with the cats and dogs cuz my game just stopped working all of a sudden and i've had the cats and dogs for awhile. what is the actual date you started having this issue cuz i'm having the same problem and its gonna drive me nuts.

have you tried all the suggestions in this thread ? Are you using custom content or mods ?
Even if you don't have the pack, patches can make mods/cc outdated and they need updating.
- I took my cc out my game and it works just fine. I check all my cc nothing messes with my game but then when I put my cc back in my game it loads then it freezing on a white screen with some words.
If it runs without your custom content, then you have one or more outdated downloads.
Custom content can get outdated with patches. If it works when you remove your mods folder, then one or more mods/cc is no longer compatible with the game and you have to find those.
