Sims 4 Stuck on Loading Screen
Problem
I was modifying a Sim in CAS using the cheat cas.fulleditmode. After I hit the check mark in CAS to go back to play mode, the game got stuck on the loading screen. After about 15 or so minutes, I closed the game using Task Manager. This has happened 1 time previously and I just restarted the game then everything worked as normal (also note that because this has happen before, I did save right before going into CAS). This time though, I cannot get the game to load when I try to restart it. I am able to get to the point where I select the family that I want to play, then it gets stuck on that loading screen. The music will play the sound that it usually makes when it's finished loading but it just stays on the screen. The graphics and music on the loading screen continue to play, it just acts like it never finishes loading.
Troubleshooting
- Removed all custom content then tried running the Sims 4 again but got stuck on the same loading screen
- Repair the game in Origin, game still got stuck after the repair completed
- Followed the "factory reset" steps explained here: [READ FIRST] Troubleshooting your Game
- I created a new sim, placed them in a home then saved and exited the game. The game fully loaded when I tried starting the Sims 4 again
- After exiting the game, I moved my save file from my backup folder to the current folder, this caused the game to get stuck on the same loading screen after selecting the family I wanted to play
Questions
Based on the troubleshooting steps that I have taken, it seems that the issue has to do with my save file. Is there a way to fix my saved file? If no, can I convert one of the previous save versions to use?
Could the issue be something else?
Thanks!
- @dragonslayer1991 you can try if ver1 ver0 are still working.
Here's instructions how to recover them: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/recover-backup-save-game/
If that fails, ver2 seems the newest from the 15th
