Sims 4 Stutters while Offline, but plays just fine while Online

Hi there.

I don't have internet at home.  I go to my sister's and use her wifi about twice a month to check for updates on steam and origin, and to let my computer and drivers update if need be.

I played the sims 4 at home, offline, for a long time with no issues.  I believe there was an update a few months ago that caused my game to stutter when playing offline.  But if I have an internet connection, there are no issues.

I've tried going offline in Origin, doesn't help.  Ive uninstalled and reinstalled origin, didn't help.  Ive tried running Sims 4 in compatibility mode of Windows 8, still stutters.  Ive tried turning off any and all online in-game options, didn't help.  Ive changed my graphic settings in game, no luck.

I'm at a loss.  I just purchased an expansion pack, was excited to play, but cant play at home.  Please help.

Thanks,

Jackie

Hi. Thanks so much for responding. I don't have any mods for Sims 4. The only custom content is maxis created. Like, the restaurants that came with the dine out expansion pack. There's nothing user created.

I'll post my dxdiag tomorrow when I'm online.

    And thanks again.

@Hatsoff1 Sorry for not replying sooner, I was trying to find some time to test my game without internet.

I've tried it and with me it seems the same. Your DxDiag looks good to me.

Could you tell me a bit more about the stutter, is it everywhere?

Also do you maybe have some programs in the background running that might be trying to connect to the internet while you're playing?

It stutters from the start of the game. I can't even create a sim anymore because of the stuttering. It like freezes every second. Makes the game unplayable. But It plays so smoothly when i have an internet connection.

I would just try to using my cell phone as a hot spot, but my phone isn't set up for It. I even tried using a free hot spot app but It wouldnt work on my phone.

I plan to get internet within the next few months but i don't want to wait till then.

It may be a background program then, if it works just fine offline for you. I have free avg antivirus software. Maybe i need to try shutting it down while i play or something? I just don't know whay background processes are safe to shut down while i play?

AVG is safe to close when you're playing The Sims offline.

Viruses usually come from the internet, and when you don't have any it's pretty hard to get one.

Just close as much as you can, see if that helps any.
