sims 4 update won't download. i am so done.
Okay.
I bought the Sims 4 for $90 from EB games and ever since then i've had problems. Worked perfectly the first night, no problems. Second night my game crashed while i was trying to save and it didnt complete the save file so i lost everything. Frustrated but understandable.
Tonight, I tried to open the game and origin said that i needed an update. I've tried to update about 20 times and each time it says "verifying game update" then a window pops up saying
"Download Error: The download server is not responding.
Please give it a few moments and try again.
If the problem persists, please contact Origin Help."
So I did! TWICE!!!!!!!!!! Two agents later, and I've done a hard uninstall/reinstall of both the sims 4 and origin, did a clean reboot and run as administrator, did all of whatever this is
go to Desktop
Hold down the Windows Key and Press R
Type cmd and press Enter
type ipconfig/flushdns and press enter
type ipcofig/registerdns and press enter
type ipconfig/release and press enter
type ipconfig/renew and press enter
type netsh winsock reset and press enter
reboot computer
and it STILL WILL NOT UPDATE
I have been trying to play this stupid game for FOUR HOURS now and I am right at the very tip of the last straw.
Will someone from EA or Origin please fix this immediately or get in contact with me because I am starting to get quite angry. How can a three day old game have already needed two updates?
OK ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS OPEN TASK MANAGER, RIGHT CLICK ON WINDOWS BAR AT BOTTOM SELECT TASK MANAGER AND SCROLL DOWN TILL YOU FIND SIMS 4, THEN RIGHT CLICK AND PRESS END PROCESS.... THEN RUN ORIGIN AS NORMAL RIGHT CLICK ON SIMS 4 AND PRESS UPDATE, IT WILL UPDATE AS NORMAL AND WILL WORK FINE,
WHAT HAPPENS IS THT IT WILL NOT UPDATE AS THE GAME IS RUNNING IN BACKGROUND, HOPE IT HELPS YO ALL 🙂
