sims 4 will not open because of corrupted files

hey simmers!

so, I recently just got a new pc and transferred all of my mods over from my mac. I sat and waited for everything to sync through onedrive, and I thought I was finally going to be able to play (this was a multiple-day affair mind you).. nope. my game will not start because apparently every one of my folders with my cc has corrupted files in it. personally, I don't think this is the case, but maybe that's just me not wanting to redownload everything...

I've done everything I can think of to fix the issues, but the only problem is, I am still being shown an error even though the "bad cc" has been deleted from my pc. I have repaired the game multiple times and made sure that I have deleted that cc from anywhere I could think of. is there anything else I could try?

  • @paytolones  Mods often get corrupted when being transferred from one OS to the other.  The workaround is  to zip the Mods folder before transferring it, then unzip it when it's on the new computer.

You don't need to use OneDrive, and in fact doing so can cause more problems later on.  Instead, upload your files to Google Drive, Dropbox, or some other free service; you can even access iCloud from a Windows PC.  The problem with OneDrive is that it may try to automatically sync the contents of Documents and thereby remove your saves and other user content from your computer.  So if you do want to stick with OneDrive, at the very least make absolutely sure it can't auto-sync anything:
