Sims 4 wont download
My game wouldn't update on the 18th. So, I deleted EA, and everything attached to it and the Sims 4. Wiped my entire PC and reinstalled EA. I've been trying to get help for days and The Sims 4 still ...
@Callmekelle When you say you wiped your PC, do you mean you removed everything Sims-related, or you did a factory reset so all your data disappeared too?
Where are you trying to install Sims 4, as in what file path, and does it help to change that folder? For example, you could create a folder on C called Games, so file path C:\Games, and try installing to that location.
Please also let me know what antivirus you use, if any. A factory reset may have restored a pre-installed third-party program, so please check the Task Manager for anything antivirus-related even if you never deliberately installed one.
As for your daughter, are you using the same computer, or different computers but the same connection (yes if you live together), or are you in two different locations?
I did a factory reset, but before doing that, I moved all my files to One Drive.
File path is the normal path I've always used. C:\Program Files\EA Games\
I use McAfee.
My daughter also has an HP Laptop, and same Wi-Fi connection.
We both got the same Sims 4 update, tried downloading and got the same billion-hour download.
@Callmekelle Try using your phone as a mobile hotspot. Make sure it's using data, not your home wifi. I realize that this would be a massive download for a phone connection, but the point is not to download Sims 4 in its entirety, it's to see whether the download speed is better. You can cancel as soon as you find out.
If the download speed is better using the hotspot, try powercycling your router. It's also possible that you'd need to open ports on the router, but that's a more technical endeavor that you'd want to talk to your ISP about before trying.
If the download speed is equally bad using the phone hotspot, please uninstall McAfee using its own product removal tool. Here's how:

Uninstall the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), download a fresh copy of the App installer, and run it.
Create a new folder on the root level of C, for example C:\Games, and choose that as the install location for Sims 4, then see if the download speed has improved. Don't reinstall McAfee until you've tested either way. As long as you're not doing anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.
Here's a screenshot of what EA has been like every time I try to download sims 4.
