@emma_g345 Among the many things you tried, did you ever move the entire Sims 4 user folder to the desktop? Moving the Mods folder inside was a good idea, but it's possible for the folder to contain other corrupt files as well.
If this doesn't or didn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

And let me know what antivirus you use. I've seen two reports recently that Surfshark is causing problems with Sims 4, but a few others block the game from time to time as well.

@puzzlezaddict If I go to: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop and click 'Link2EA', it comes up with an error on the EA app which says "A required parameter is missing - Check that your game is installed correctly, then try again". But how can that be? I've reinstalled the whole game from scratch, having updated my laptop to Windows 11 and ensuring my Sims 4 game is completely up-to-date....

I’m having the same problem! And mine said this as well! Is it the update? It’s been working after the update up till now… then along comes the game not opening. Bookmarking for an answer!
