Sims 4 Won't Launch

Product: The Sims 4 Platform:PC Which language are you playing the game in? English How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%) What is your current game version number? I don't know, because...

    @koolsgames  Please try setting exceptions within Bullguard for both Origin.exe and TS4_x64.exe.  Run Origin as an admin: right-click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator"; do the same for Sims 4.

    A number of antivirus programs are now blocking Sims 4 when they previously had no problem with it, and despite adjusting the usual settings.  So if the exceptions don't help, please try disabling Bullguard temporarily, just as an experiment.  As long as you don't open anything aside from Origin and Sims 4, your computer should be perfectly safe.

    @JrT2013  There are plenty of reasons that only one game in particular might not start, and a dxdiag covers a lot of ground all at once.

I try to play the game but then i'm prompted with updates, but i have absolutely nothing on my computer taking up space, and then with the unneeded updates every few days it doesn't let me launch the game, please let origin players play sims with out doing an update .. it really sucks

    @Bellap1213   Are you talking about Origin updates or Sims 4 updates?  Origin can update itself as often as once a week, but that shouldn't mess with Sims 4.  You can also disable automatic Origin updates in Application Settings > Application > Client update; Origin will then ask you whether you want to update or to skip it and use Origin in offline mode.  You can still play Sims 4 with Origin offline, but the Gallery won't be available.

    Sims 4 updates about once a month with occasional extra emergency patches when something major breaks.  The updates are necessary for both bug fixes and to allow for new content, for example a new kit is about to be released.  Without a patch, the new content wouldn't work.  But again here, you can disable automatic game updates within Origin (same location) and play Sims 4 without updating it as long as Origin is in offline mode.
