sims 4 won't launch
I've redownloaded the game and removed all CC AND redownloaded origin and it still only reopens origin if i try to launch the game. Before I uninstalled it would only open if there was custom content...
yeah if i add anything that goes into build or buy mode, the game opens but all the text is either missing or random jumbled letters
@adancingirl Please do all of this, together, before playing again:
Let me know whether the game launches. If it doesn't, create a new admin Windows account and try to play in that. Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services you normally use. You'll be able to sign into Origin and won't need to redownload anything, but your saves and other content won't be available. That can be addressed later; for now, just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save.
hello
so I can't open my game from ea app
like I click on the sims 4 icon and it opens the ea and then I click on play and I also open my task manager to see if the game opens or not and it opens like it shows me that it opened but the thing is that the ea opens again and my game won't appear on the task manager
I'm using windows 10 and my game is not opening at all
I hope you can help me with my problem
ps: I've tried using the trikes from youtube but nothing help
thank you for your time
@g9ifsqe1w7k5 As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.
If you still can't play, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Hey, I've been having the issue that I get an error message saying "game already running", when it's definitely not. I tried that folder moving thing, but then when I open the EA app it looks as though the game is not even downloaded. When I try to launch the game outside the EA app, I get the error message that I don't own the game. Any other ides? (I've tried: Windows Defender settings, clearing cache, deleting temp files, re-downloading the game, repairing the game.) I do not use any mods or cc. I tried to run a dxdiag, but I'm not sure it actually captured me trying to launch the game. Thank you!
Yea…. I simply don’t have that right click & select repair option… the options are Play, Show game details, game properties, & uninstall….
@Agg_J11 Again, if you want help with a Mac issue, please post in the dedicated Mac tech forum:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/bd-p/The-Sims-Mac
If you've switched to a Windows PC, please let me know what happens when you try to play.
DOWNVOTE!
If I did not have a back up file, I would have lost all my saves & mods doing this. Delete this asap! And no one else follow these instructions
@15tpsg3j0r90 There's no downvoting here, and no one is going to delete my post because you didn't read carefully. At no point did I say delete anything; I said move the files, which would of course leave them intact. So if you deleted the originals, you weren't following the instructions.
@puzzlezaddicthi! i tried moving the sims 4 folder but it wont let me, saying that an unexpected error is keeping me from copying the file.
@ZeyaKae Restart your computer and try again. If you still can't move the folder, rename it. This has the same effect: the game won't be able to find the folder if it's not called "The Sims 4."
Please also make sure you're working with the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts, not the one in Program Files.
