Sims 4 won't launch

Whenever I try launching the game it doesn't work and it doesn't give me an error, I've tried restarting my PC multiple times and it hasn't worked I don't know how to fix, it I've been trying for an hour

  • KrisIsAmazing69  Please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  If it copies instead of moving, or you get an error when trying to move it, stop here and let me know.

Otherwise, when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Thank you for the help! Moving the folder worked, but when I moved my saves and cc into the folders, it stopped launching again. Whenever I remove my mods folder, it ends up working. It's really weird, though, because I just checked everything in there, and it's working. Do you have any solution ideas for that?

  • puzzlezaddict Moving the folder worked! but I am having the same issue, whenever I add my Mods folder it doesn't launch but without it, it works. Would you have a solution for that?

For me it was a poster cc it was called Wanderingsims or something like that, did you by chance download any new mods or did it stop working out of nowhere?

  • KrisIsAmazing69  Glad you figured it out, and thanks for listing the broken cc.

lizettispaghetti  How do you know your mods and cc are working?  Just because they haven't been reported as broken (or no tool says they're broken) doesn't mean they're all compatible with the current patch.  If you can't figure out what's preventing your game from opening, you'll need to test the files manually.  The 50/50 method can make the process a lot more efficient:
